How to Win at Writing Competitions,
Even When You Don't Place

Kory recently presented the topic "How to Win at Writing Competitions, Even When You Don't Place" at The MTSU Writer's Loft.  She's also written a related article, "Contest: Another Word for Opportunity," appearing in the Winter 2009 Tennessee Writer newsletter from the Tennessee Writers Alliance.

Participate in Kory's survey on writing competitions:

Part of Kory's lecture included the results of a recent survey she conducted on writing competitions.  Since she plan to do future lectures and write an article on this topic, she's keeping the survey open.  If you can take a few minutes and answer ANY or ALL of the questions - even if you don't usually participate in writing contests -  she'd be very appreciative.

Sample submission kit. Kory based these samples on Percy Shelley's work because she's always liked "Ozymandias," since studying it in high school, and because "Ozymandias" won a poetry competition back in 1817. Really!
